I'll do something I rarely do at Yelp, leave a review since I don't much like Yelp at all. However, we've been to the VBK now about four or five times, enough to have a good idea about the quality. I haven't had a bad or poor meal here yet. Last night had the Halibut. Our server recommended the salsa with it and it was delicious! Have had the Lobster Roll here and it was great. My wife's salads have been good. The menu changes frequently with some excellent choices for diners. I like this place because it has a very inventive menu of things you ordinarily don't get at a place like this. They also have some great drinks and they offer some excellent desserts which are sourced locally. Outside seating is possible as well. So far, so good, though this place may be just a little pricey for lunch... Also noticed last evening that they are offering valet parking. If you can't park in the front on Main, take a right onto Commerce, then a right just past the gas station and that brings you into the parking lot behind this VBK.

We arrived at 1:30. Only the outside tables were seated as the weather was warm. Our drinks were served promptly and we ordered lunch. Nearly 45 minutes later, the server asked if we wanted another drink. We asked about our lunch and she seemed surprised that we had ordered food. She checked the computer system and apologized, but blamed the new system that did not register our order. We were hungry so ordered chips and salsa since it was clear our food would be further delayed. We asked to speak with the manager and he was only willing to take 25% off the bill and charged us for the chips/salsa. The food was fairly good so I gave two stars. The table next to us also waited nearly an hour for their food.

Excellent food and service. We love VBK so much that we eat there at least once a week. They have an extensive menu and offer several gluten free options, as my husband is celiac. It can be very difficult to find good restaurants that take celiac and gluten sensitive seriously. The chef takes care in making sure that the gluten free meals do not get cross contaminated. Highly recommend!

Outstanding decor, amazing staff and delicious food. I met Lenny, one of the owners/ managers and he couldn't have been more hospitable. We were traveling from Chicago and had a great time. Next time we are back in Michigan we will be sure to go back. My only wish is that they had a jukebox so I could play Dokken with my fantastic meal. Other than that....5 stars!!

Excellent dinner tonight. Had the calamari which was lightly breaded and just enough of a kick. Fish tacos were great. Lightly breaded with a fresh slaw that complimented the fish very well. Also had the best server that I have seen in awhile (Rachel C).

Up until tonight I would have had a 5 star rating for this restaurant. We have ate here a few times and overall been pleased. However, tonight was a different story. It started with sitting at the table for 7+ minutes without being acknowledged from anyone! Then once our waiter said "I'll be right with you" it took another few minutes before our drink orders were taken. Then once our food came it took an additional 3 or 4 minutes for our asparagus to come out. A side of $4 asparagus only ended coming with 4 pieces, and then after taking a bite I quickly put it to the side because not only was it undercooked but not hot and the overall taste was just not good. I informed the waiter it was not good and he apologized and took it off the table. The food was mediocre and once we finished then asked for the bill. Come to find out they did not take the asparagus off that we didn't even eat and overcharged me for adding mushrooms when I asked for NO mushrooms on my sandwich. Sad to say we will not be back. I understand not everything goes perfectly every time. But the restaurant was not busy and I feel like we were not treated properly.

OK I have been here at least a half dozen times and had flawless service and excellent food. I have tried several tapas, the strip and the sirloin steaks, their cooked spinach side dishes and a couple different salads, the band bang shrimp and the coconut shrimp. My server was Rachael and she did and excellent job. Tom, (owner/manager) was not present my last two visits but I need to commend him on his restaurant in the future as he takes a personal interest in making this restaurant top-notch. They have earned my highest rating and happily are nearby too.

Best best best zip sauce ever! A bit pricey though but it's a good location and great food and they have outdoor seating- they just need to do more live music and events there and it will become a good local bar spot
(5)Dusty R.
My wife and I drove for six hours to get here and I can tell you that it was well worth it. I am a chef so I am very picky about my food, everything we ordered was an incredible combination of flavors. The service was excellent, I never had an empty glass, our food came very quick. I will be happy to make the drive again.

Service was slower than slow. Wasn't busy for lunch, sat outside. Took 10 minutes to get waters, still didn't have menus for at least another 5. Cousin and I ordered two burgers....took 50 minutes to get to our table from the time I ordered it. Fries were way over done it was basically a crunchy batter stick. The mac and cheese is bomb though. That's the only reason I would be back to this place. Lack of service has closed every restaurant that's been in this spot so obviously needs to be stepped up or I don't see it lasting very long.
(2)Tammy P.
This was our first time at the restaurant. They have a nice little outdoor seating area. Only a few tables though, but we were lucky enough to get one. The service was five star. Rachael was our waitress and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks and gave great recommendations. The Bang Bang shrimp was phenomenal. They have a pretty decent wine list as well and excellent sangria. The menu prices vary. So you can make it a nice inexpensive meal with a sandwich or salad, or spend a little bit more on a seafood or steak entrée. So there is definitely something for everyone. I would highly recommend this place.

Just O.K. First, we love that a new restaurant opened in town, we are huge supporters of locally owned restaurants and shops! On a date night, my Hubby & I finally made it to Village B&K ( Friday March 27th)....I have to say we were hoping for more as we really want the place to do great! Atmosphere: Not very 'comfortable' feeling, feels 'empty' - needs a bit more decorating (seems like its going for a vintage / Root restaurant like feel w/out the cozy ambiance), also to add to the 'cold' look & feel, it was chilly temperature-wise while we were there - and looking around I saw at least 3 other women with their coats over their shoulders - I feel management should have observed this and acted. Service: Friendly enough staff. I believe it was the chef who brought out our meals, which was a nice touch! Now the food :( ...meh sums it up... especially for the price (and we are not cheap-o diners). It's not much different of a selection than what we can get at other places in town that we already love. We LOVE the small plates idea (one of our fav things when we go to Palate), however, the small plates were priced closer to entrees which kinda defeats the whole purpose of small plates in our minds anyway - buying several to try different foods! The two of us ordered the Chop Salad as a starter (not much flavor, lettuce was watery), then for dinner we shared the Lamb Chops Big Plate (they were fine/good, however $29 for two chops (4 bones) over some mashed potatoes, w/out a salad starter!?!? too much $), and we shared the fresh catch taco...one of our favs to order typically, only here they made it with cod...fish was pretty bland but the rest of taco was ok. 3 small tacos for $18! a bit steep!! And to really splurge, we ordered the lobster mac which I could not recommend to anyone - standard elbow pasta and dry yellow cheese sauce, resembled something out of a blue box. It tasted fine, though for as sinful as mac n cheese can be, totally wasn't worth the calories or the $14. And, I had to dig for the very few pieces of lobster..... The chef should take a trip to one of the many Union Mac serving places for some ideas how to class up the recipe. Drinks were as expected (bottled beer and champagne). Skipped dessert. I don't typically post reviews, but we are passionate about our local town businesses and hope the owners will review this, and other reviews, and make some changes - we recognize the restaurant is still 'new' - and we will give it another try....the kids menu looks fun, we'll go back with our daughter.

This place was amazing!!! The best service and the best good. So fresh, so delicious!! I cannot wait to come back!!!!

Not sure with the negative reviews a soft open is to get the kinks outs we went there twice since it has opened. The decor is amazing and the food is awesome. Some of the best in the area. The waitstaff was amazing and management was present if we had a problem. Be sure and try the daily specials.

We arrived at 10:30 a.m. We were a party of 4 adults and one child. The restaurant was not busy. The waitress needed two trips for one coffee and two waters. I wanted tea, green tea. The water and cup came but there were only a small sample of teas to select and there was no green. I opted for coffee. The rest of the party arrived. It took time again to get two coffees and water. After a long wait I flagged down the waitress who took our order. Another long, long wait. Finally our food arrived...french fries for breakfast? well they ran out of the breakfast potato and did not bother to tell the customers. My eggs benedict was an overcooked egg, inadequate amount of hollandaise sauce to the point that it was dry and there was no Canadian bacon as called for in the description, rather one slice of meager regular bacon on half of each side of an English muffin. By the time the meal came the baby was beyond cool and all of us were hungry. Refills on coffee and water were by request only. In short, poor service, poor management (i.e. no teas, no Canadian bacon, no breakfast potatoes, overly cooked eggs, inadequate hollandaise, on and on I can go....) and poor food preparation. The situation could have been managed by 1) having sufficient supplies of ingredients offered on menu or advising the customer of the limitations at the time of order, 2) having adequate staffing or reducing the size of the restaurant to allow for the limited staff to be more effective in serving or not opening. In short a big disappointment.

Had the blackened Salmon. Generous portion with pasta salad and sweet potato fries. Cooked perfect. Had beef empanadas as an appetizer and they were cooked great and had a great black pepper spice. Beer list is a tad small, but sampled several of their mixed drinks. The chipotle margarita was great as well as the dragonberry mojito. Sat at the bar and service was great. Manager introduced herself and explained the menu and what they are going for. I was hesitant being a new establishment, but the food was great, prices reasonable with a varied menu and the service was great. I will definitely be back.

I had an awesome experience here! I had the grilled chicken pesto sandwich and it was great! My son is a very picky eater and he said to me "mom this is awesome!" The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I also love the decor. I would 100 times over recommend this restaurant as a must try! And I will be going back with my son. Heather

GREAT FOOD, SERVICE, and ATMOSPHERE!!! What more could you want? This will become a regular spot for me and my friends!!!! Best bartenders in town!!! Thanks and we can't wait to visit again!

This was the first time we tried this restruant. We try every new restaurant that opens in Milford. We got there about 4 pm with not too many patrons there. Good selection of background music. By the time we left the place was full and a bit noisy. The Waitstaff was excellent. We ordered off of the lunch menu and had meatball sandwiches and a cup Gumbo. The Gumbo was spicy and excellent. The fries were average. Their bourbon, bacon, pecan ice cream was very good. We will be going back.

Went on Sat night after their soft opening. Long wait for a table but had a drink at the bar. Craft beer pints are overpriced at $7, ok selection. When finally seated we ordered 2 small plates that were served late cold and burnt. Serviced sucked. When we complained they gave us some cheesecake but made us wait 20 min for the bill. Not returning, will wait for them to crash and a new option will appear. I was hoping for another good Milford option.
